At the conference, nearly 200 officials, people, and fishermen from Loc An commune and Phuoc Hai townlet, Dat Do district, received leaflets containing information about offshore oil and gas facilities.
Additionally, representatives from PVEP disseminated the Government’s decrees No.03/2002/ND-CP on protecting security and safety of oil and gas, and No.99/2020/ND-CP regulating administrative sanctions in the field of oil and gas, petroleum, and gas trading.

An overview of the conference |
The conference also presented regulations on safe corridors, violations threatening facility security, images of past accidents, potential risks to oil and gas facilities, and preventive measures.
In his speech, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Trung Hieu, Deputy Political Commissar, Head of the Mass Mobilization Team of Phuoc Hai Border Post, introduced key points of Resolution No.04/2024/NQ-HDTP, guiding the application of certain provisions of the Criminal Code regarding the prosecution of criminal liability for acts related to illegal exploitation, purchase, sale, and transportation of aquatic products. The focus was on new points in handling violations related to illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

The event aimed at raising fishermen’s awareness of the importance of combating IUU fishing and offshore oil and gas facilities, fostering their responsibilities in safeguarding these structures and observance of regulations on combating IUU fishing, contributing to firmly protecting the sovereignty and security of the nation's maritime border and islands in the future.
On this occasion, the Ba Ria - Vung Tau provincial Border Guard Command, in collaboration with PVEP, handed over 10 bicycles, worth VND 3 million each, to needy fishermen’s children with high academic results in Loc An commune and Phuoc Hai townlet.
