On July 19, Deputy Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau inquired after former GDP Deputy Chiefs Lieutenant Generals Phung Khac Dang and Le Van Han.
Inquiring after the former GDP leaders, Gen. Gau wished them good health and expressed his hope that they would make further contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party, and to the building of a revolutionary, regular, elite, gradually modern military. Gen. Gau took the occasion to inform them on the task performance in military and defense as well as the Party and political work of units in the whole military in the first half of 2023, as well as policy work and gratitude activities of the military on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs’ Day.

For their part, Lieutenant Generals Phung Khac Dang and Le Van Han were delighted at the military’s achievements over the past year, hoping troops in the whole military to further promote the noble virtues of Uncle Ho’s soldiers, so as to well fulfill all assigned missions. Meanwhile, the GDP should promote its role to make recommendations to the Politburo, Secretariat, Central Military Commission (CMC), Ministry of National Defense (MND) to build a politically-strong military, raise synergy and strength, and promote the leadership of the Party towards the military.
On the occasion, Gen. Gau presented gifts to the two GDP former leaders.
* The same day, GDP Deputy Chief Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh offered incense in tribute to fallen soldiers at Ta Thiet National historic site, and handed over gratitude houses and presented gifts to policy households in Loc Thanh commune, Loc Ninh district, Binh Phuoc province.

At Uncle Ho’s Temple, Gen. Minh offered incense to pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh and fallen soldiers who fell down for the cause of national liberation and unification.
In Loc Thanh commune, on behalf of the GDP’s leaders, Gen. Minh handed over three gratitude houses, worth totally VND 240 million to local poor people and gifts to 30 policy beneficiaries.
Addressing the event, Gen. Minh affirmed that the activities aimed to pay tribute to fallen soldiers and take care of needy and policy households in the locality so as to help them soon stabilize their life.

* From July 17 to 19, Political Commissar of Military Region 1 Lieutenant General Duong Dinh Thong led a delegation to offer incense and flowers at the Truong Son National War Cemetery and Quang Tri Ancient Citadel; and visited General Vo Nguyen Giap’s grave at Vung Chua - Dao Yen, Quang Dong commune, Quang Trach district, Quang Binh province, and Dong Loc Junction historical relic site. On the occasion, the region also handed over two gratitude houses and 30 gifts, worth VND 1 million each, to national contributors in Gio Linh district, Quang Tri province.
* In Quang Binh province, the Coast Guard Region 2 Command held a ceremony to inaugurate and hand over a gratitude house to non-commissioned Captain Nguyen Van Hung working in the command’s Flotilla 202. After three-month construction, the house was completed in an area of 100 square meters as scheduled with good quality.
