PANO – The Vietnam-Russian Tropical Center during the last 5 years has beefed up research and built up its scientific and technological potential, initially meeting the requirements of security and defence missions.
The center has expanded research cooperation with Russia, contributing to strengthening the Vietnam-Russian comprehensive strategic partnership.

The center has carried out 110 scientific projects and missions and a good number of the center’s specific products have been effectively put into practice.
The center is in charge of the implementation and consultation of 5 ministerial-level missions on climate change and planting protective mangrove forests. The center is also involved in projects and missions on dioxin/agent orange consequence relief.
In terms of education and training, in the 2010-2015 period, the Vietnam-Russian Tropical Center opened 5 basic Russian language training courses for military officers and 3 advanced Russian language courses for researchers, upgraded specialized laboratories, and transferred weapon and military equipment maintenance technologies to the younger generations.
