Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission Truong Thi Mai were among the congratulators.
* The same day, the General Department of Politics (GDP) of the Vietnam People’s Army met press and media agencies on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.
At the meeting in Hanoi with the presence of General Luong Cuong, Director of the GDP, the participants were briefed on the coordination of information dissemination of military-defense tasks in the first half of this year. Accordingly, military and civilian press, media agencies, and foreign reporters wrote various articles about military and defense activities conducted by military units and defense agencies. Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, reporters have overcome difficulties to cover all preventive activities of the military, thereby beautifying the image of Uncle Ho’s soldiers.
Representatives from the Vietnam Journalists’ Association and press and media agencies thanked the Ministry of National Defense and the GDP for creating favorable conditions for them to get more informative documents for their high-quality press and media releases.
In his speech, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia, Deputy Director of the GDP, highly valued the press and media releases, which have encouraged troops to successfully complete their missions.
General Nghia asked the press management and press and media agencies to continue working closely with the Ministry of National Defense and GDP to follow current events and exchange correct and accurate information to orient public opinion in a timely manner. He stressed that the Ministry of National Defense and GDP should create favorable conditions for them to boost information dissemination about the military in the time ahead.
* Also on June 18, General Nghia visited and congratulated the PAN on the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.
At the meeting, Senior Colonel Doan Xuan Bo, Acting Editor-in-Chief of the PAN, thanked the Central Military Commission, Ministry of National Defense, and GDP for their care. Bo reviewed the newspaper’s performance of routine and unscheduled information dissemination missions, which have been highly appreciated by leaders of the Party, State, the Ministry of National Defense, GDP, and readers.
General Nghia has always valued the PAN’s past accomplishments, saying that these past contributions continue to confirm the newspaper’s position as a leading political newspaper. He spoke highly of the PAN’s pioneer role in the combat against the “peaceful evolution” plot of hostile forces, “self-evolution,” and “self-transformation,” and in protecting the Party’s ideological foundation.
General Nghia believes that the PAN will fulfill all of their assigned missions and continue the tradition of being the leader in information dissemination work.
* The same day, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) held a meeting with representatives from press and media agencies.
At the meeting, VUFO Chairwoman Nguyen Phuong Nga congratulated the press on the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day and highly valued the effective coordination of the press and media agencies in raising the awareness and support of Vietnamese people and international friends of VUFO activities.
VUFO hopes that the press and media agencies will cover all VUFO activities that support peace, solidarity and friendship, especially the Vietnam-India People’s Friendship Festival and the 2020 ASEAN People’s Forum.
