As planned, the opening ceremony of VIDEX 2021 will be held virtually on December 14 on websites www.videx.vn, http://videx.ckt.gov.vn and on qdnd.vn, and vnexpress.net. The ceremony will connect more than 30 agencies and units inside and outside the military as well as domestic and foreign businesses.

At the opening ceremony, various products, including those from the Military Industry-Telecoms Group (Viettel), the Military Science and Technology Institute, the Vietnam - Russia Tropical Center and the Military Technical Academy will be showcased at 10 booths.

According to the organizing panel, VIDEX 2021 features various activities, including an exhibition on outstanding achievements in military science and technology; an exhibition on national defense, security, and technology products; a trade fair; seminars to connect businesses.

The exhibition is a space for businesses to meet and seek cooperation opportunities in the context of the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic. It also aims to popularize and affirm Vietnam’s science and technology strength and defense industry capacity.

The first edition will welcome 130 Vietnamese and foreign enterprises operating in such fields as defense industry, environment, energy, water treatment, mechanics, supporting industry, and organic agriculture, among others.

At the meeting, delegates said that the preparation for the event has been basically completed with 78 showcased military and defense products approved by the Ministry of National Defense  and digitized for the online exhibition.

In addition, the Economic Department supported participating units and businesses to digitize 2,000 products and post videos and photos on websites.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang praised relevant units for their activeness and close coordination in preparing for VIDEX 2021.

To ensure the exhibition’s success, General Thang asked agencies and units to complete all preparation, exercise suitable COVID-19 prevention and control measures, and ensure absolute information safety and cyber security during the event.
