General Luong Cuong speaking at the event |
Reports delivered at the event highlighted achievements recorded by the military security protection force in 2019. Agencies and units under the department embraced and strictly implemented higher levels’ directives, resolutions, and regulations on protecting military security and national security. They actively followed situational development, thus making timely recommendations for higher levels to issue measures to foil all schemes of hostile forces.
Speaking at the conference, General Luong Cuong acknowledged and praised the force’s results last year. He urged the department to build a contingent of officers with a firm political stance, absolute loyalty to the Party, State, and Army, and professional competence.
Mentioning possible sabotage schemes of reactionary and hostile forces in 2020 when Vietnam organizes Party congresses at all level and the 13th National Party Congress, General Cuong asked the Department of Military Security Protection to promote its advisory role to help the Ministry of National Defense and General Department of Politics to develop measures to defeat those schemes. He asked the force to coordinate with other forces to ensure absolute security and safety at important events of the Party, State, and Army.
On the same day, Senior Lieutenant General Le Chiem, Deputy Minister of National Defense and Head of Defense Ministry’s Steering Committee for Administrative Reform, chaired the committee’s conference to review the work in 2019 and the implementation of the administrative reform project during the year.
Considering administrative reform a core and regular political mission, Party Committees and Chain-of-Commands thoroughly grasped resolutions, directives, and guidelines on the work. Defense agencies and military units also paid attention to dissemination of administrative reform information and observing the implementation of the work.
In 2019, the Ministry of National Defense added 33 administrative procedures on healthcare and treatment, issued eight circulars and seven guidelines on state management over finance, and abrogated 16 ones on management of industrial explosives.
Praising achievements in administrative reform recorded by agencies and units in the whole military last year, General Chiem asked them to promote information dissemination and legal document compilation. They were also urged to strictly implement the Government’s resolutions and the Prime Minister’s decisions on building e-Government and accelerate a one-door mechanism in processing administrative procedures.
