PANO - The Department for Security Protection under the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army reviewed its task implementation in 2015 and rolled out its 2016 missions, in Hanoi on December 30th.

This year, the department provided good advice to the Central Military Commission, the Defence Ministry and the General Department of Politics on internal security issues, deny hostile forces' sabotage of defense agencies military units and personnel, and ensure safety for major defense and military activities.

Senior Lieutenant General Luong Cuong, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics, applauded the department’s achievements and urged them to focus on building troops’ skills and expertise and closely collaborate with local authorities in ensuring security for the country’s coming events, particularly the 12th National Party Congress and the Elections for Deputies to the National Assembly (14th tenure) and the People’s Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 term.
