The first impression of Vinh and Quang was their agility and confidence. When asked why they volunteered for military service, both brothers explained that it had been a shared dream since childhood.
Born into a farming family with three sons in Hoi Ninh commune, the brothers grew up listening to their grandfather, a former soldier, recount stories of military discipline and the sacrifice of past generations. These stories nurtured their aspiration to don the soldier's uniform and serve the country.

Talking about his decision, Nguyen Duy Quang said: "My brother and I have always admired soldiers, who set a shining example for us to follow. The stories our grandfather told about Uncle Ho’s soldiers during the resistance war against the U.S. imperialists greatly inspired us. So, right after graduating from high school, we decided to pursue our dream of wearing the green military uniform. We believe that the military environment will help us develop discipline and become useful members of society."
Nguyen Thanh Vinh also shared his thoughts: "Following the footsteps of our grandfather, a Uncle Ho’s soldier joining the national prolonged resistance war, we want to contribute our youthful energy to building and defending the country, continuing the family tradition."
A piece of good news for the twin brothers is that before their departure for military service, both were selected to attend a political awareness training course for prospective Party members.
Nguyen Quoc Dat, Commanding Officer of Hoi Ninh commune's Military Command, noted that Vinh and Quang are not only good young Catholics who love their parents but also Youth Union members who have actively participated in the union movements and local volunteer activities. Thanks to their exemplary conduct, both brothers have been considered for Party membership, with procedures underway for their official admission before they enlist.
With high determination and the support of family and friends, Quang and Vinh are ready to embark on their military journey. Their story is a source of pride for their family and an honor for their hometown of Hoi Ninh commune.
