PANO - As many as 30 cadres and troops of Tam Duong district Military Command joined hands with other rescue forces to rescue victims of the collapsed suspension bridge on February 24th in Son Binh commune, Tam Duong district, Lai Chau province.

The provincial military command also mobilized 95 militiamen from Son Binh and Ban Bo communes to bring victims to hospitals.
On February 24th and 25th, the armed forces helped victims’ families to bury the deceased, while ensuring security and safety at the scene of the accident.
The provincial military command also visited and provided aid to victims. Each injured person received VND 500,000 and each family whose relative died in the accident was given VND 1 million.
Reportedly, 9 people found dead and at least 40 others were injured after the suspension bridge collapsed in the northeastern mountainous province of Lai Chau on February 24th.
On February 25th, two helicopters flew nearly 30 doctors and nurses, together with modern medical devices, from the Viet Duc and Bach Mai Hospitals in Hanoi to Lai Chau to provide assistance.
