“Three explosions” test for recruits inspected
PANO - On May 19, a working delegation of the Vietnam Coast Guard (VCG), led by Major General Tran Van Luong, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the VCG, inspected the “three explosions” test in recruit training at Battalion 471, Brigade 147, under the Naval Region 1 Command.
The delegation included leaders of the VCG’s agencies; representatives of the Coast Guard Region 1 Command; and heads of relevant agencies and units. Receiving the delegation were Rear Admiral Vu Van Nam, Commander of Naval Region 1, and the leadership of Brigade 147.
After three months of training at Battalion 471, the VCG’s recruits have been equipped with basic knowledge of politics, military affairs, law, and regulations. They have also improved their physical fitness and mettle, mastered the training contents, and proficiently used their assigned weapons and equipment. To date, 100% of the recruits are confident and highly determined, ready to enter the “three explosions” test with the best health, skills, and bravery.

The inspection trip provided an opportunity for VCG agencies and units to study and learn from the unit's experience in organizing the “three explosions” test, focusing on preparing training grounds and ensuring weapons, logistics supplies, and safety. This serves as a practical basis for gradually improving the quality of VCG’s recruit training in the coming years.
Evaluating the practical results, Major General Tran Van Luong acknowledged the responsibility and pro-activeness of Brigade 147 in particular, and the Naval Region 1 Command in general, in carrying out the recruit training mission recently. He also highly appreciated the quality of the training grounds, weapons, and equipment, as well as discipline observance and safety assurance during the training and testing process.
