General Ngo Xuan Lich (C) chairing the event |
Last month, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense comprehensively and effectively directed the whole military units to implement military-defense missions, particularly in maintaining combat readiness and duty regulations while welcoming a warm, happy and safe Lunar New Year festival (Tet).
Immediately after the Tet holiday, they actively and proactively prepared for a new year training season and received recruits in this year’s enlistment drive.
Additionally, they continued to enhance troops’ political stance, build strong Party organizations and comprehensively strong units, carry out activities of defense external affairs, improve personnel work, and ensure logistic and financial and technical services for task implementation.
Addressing the conference, General Lich highly valued the whole military units in overcoming difficulties to complete their February missions, adding that they have to continue grasping resolutions and instruction from higher levels, following the social situations, promoting its counseling function, working closely with local leaderships to deal with any circumstances, raise combat strength and efficiency of task performance, and attach importance to the building of regularity and military discipline.
As for major tasks of this month, the Defense Minister requested units to strengthen their staff, roll out training sessions for new enlistees, promote training and combat readiness quality, contribute to the draft Law on the Reserve Force to submit to the National Assembly Standing Committee, and precisely predict any developments, especially hostile forces' plots and tricks, to map out efficient combat measures.
