During the visit, General Giang praised the units for their recorded achievements over the past time, especially in preparing for a new training season and the coming traditional Tet (Lunar New Year Festival) and asked them to maintain strictly combat readiness and cooperate with local Party committees, authorities and police to closely follow  local political security situations in order  to deal with them  in a timely manner.

On the occasion, General Giang presented gifts to troops of Tank-Armored Brigade 406 and Military Region 2 and inquired after and visited to wounded and sick soldiers under treatment at the Phu Tho provincial convalescent center for those who had rendered good services to the nation and to the Vietnam Association for Agent Orange Victims.

During the visit to Military Region (MR) 9 on February 5, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Tran Thanh Man congratulated the command on their attained results over the past time.

Accordingly, last year the MR’s armed forces were praised by the Ministry of National Defense for their remarkable achievements in training, combat readiness, mass mobilization, national disaster mitigation and defense relations.

The VFF President also affirmed that achievements in politics have helped provinces and cities in the Mekong River Delta region fulfill socio-economic targets, ensure defense and security and build a strong political system. He hoped that in the time to come, Military Region 9’s units would work closely with local Party committees, authorities and organizations to carry out effectively movements launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee and the fatherland front committees at all levels.

At present, the MR instructed agencies and units to keep in touch with local situations, promote their staff role to help deal with situations in a timely manner, carry out effectively policies for troops and their families and ensure a happy Tet for troops.
