PANO - President Tran Dai Quang paid a working visit to the Air Defense-Air Force Service on the morning of August 19 on the occasion of the 71st August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2).
Chief of the service, Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh, briefed the top State leader upon the results of the service's task implementation in the first eight months of 2016 and its plan for the rest of the year. Accordingly, the service has successfully safeguarded the national airspaces and well performed other assigned as well as unscheduled tasks. General Huy thanked State leaders, especially President Tran Dai Quang, for taking special care of the service over the past time.

On behalf of Party and State leaders, President Tran Dai Quang hailed the achievements of the Air Defense and Air Force Service in its establishment and development history. He asked the service to continue building a comprehensively strong unit, focusing on regularly augmenting political stance for its troops, which serves as a foundation to increase its combat power and synergy so as to be able to defeat any airborne attacks of adversaries under any circumstances, contributing to firmly protecting the skies, borders, seas and islands of the nation.
The President required that the service should get close hold of the situation and comprehend plots of hostile forces so that it can in time provide appropriate advice and proposed good solutions to the Party, State, Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense. Regarding the service's education and training work, he asked the service to rennovate the contents and methods and actively apply advanced technologies in education and training. He suggested combining invaluable experiences in the past national resistance wars and good lessons from recent wars around the world to develop the art and theory of our air defense and air force operations. He also underscored the importance of scientific research to the service so as to make advancements and breakthroughs in the employment and maintenance of the weapons and equipment of the service.
The State leader required the service to take good care of its troops' material and spiritual lives and enhance its relationship with people by actively participating in social welfare programs such as poverty reduction and hunger elemination and search and rescue activities.
President Tran Dai Quang showed his hope that the service will further promote its tradition and overcome all challenges to make more achievements, contributing to the national construction and defense cause, deserving the trust of the Party, State and people.
