Speaking at the session, General Tung praised the academy’s leadership and implementation of education and training tasks, as well as the efforts of its officers, instructors, agencies and training units in fulfilling assigned missions.
He requested the academy to continue thoroughly grasping the Party’s guidelines and viewpoints, as well as the directions of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, State President and Secretary of the Central Military Commission To Lam together with the leadership of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense. He stressed the need to further develop the academy into a leading center for training and fostering campaign- and strategic-level officers, as well as a top military and national defense research institution of the armed forces and the country.
During discussions with trainees, the GDP’s deputy chief emphasized that the current tasks of safeguarding the Fatherland and building the military require increasingly high and comprehensive standards. He noted that officers trained for operational- and strategic-level positions must continuously improve their strategic thinking and strengthen their capabilities in analysis, forecasting, advisory work and mission implementation.
He also highlighted the importance of political steadfastness, exemplary responsibility, strategic vision and organizational capacity. Upon graduation, trainees were encouraged to continue learning through practical experience, closely grasp situations and personnel matters, identify breakthrough tasks to create substantive improvements within their units, maintain internal solidarity, and support subordinate officers.
Ahead of the 50th anniversary of the National Defense Academy’s foundation day on January 3, 2027, General Tung expressed his confidence that the Academy’s Party Organization, Board of Directors, officers, instructors, trainees, staff members and soldiers would continue upholding the institution’s proud traditions, unity, innovation and creativity while successfully fulfilling all assigned tasks and meeting the trust of the Party, the State, the military and the people.
