During the 99th defense-security knowledge refresher course, participants will study defense and security strategies of key countries related to Vietnam's defense-security landscape; the Party's viewpoints and State’s policies on national defense and security; socio-economic development strategies tied to enhancing national defense and security; countermeasures against “peaceful evolution,” riots and subversion by hostile forces.

Additionally, participants will also conduct field studies to share experience on defense and security with socio-economic development across ministries, agencies, and localities.

The 53rd command-staff training course for operational and strategic-level officers focuses on Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought in the current context; Party and political work in the military; national defense and military policies of the Party and State, Vietnam's military art, and other essential contents.

An overview of the ceremony

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Viet Khoa emphasized that while each course has distinct contents and objectives,  both aim to improve strategic forecasting capabilities; enhance political theory, advisory skills, and execution of defense-security tasks; develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address practical and theoretical issues in each sector, unit, organ, and locality.

He urged the academy’s personnel to stay pro-active, innovative, and adaptive in their teaching methods while ensuring rigorous training and evaluation standards. He also called on attendees to uphold discipline and commitment to the course requirements,  overcome challenges and embrace creativity in learning; focus on real, meaningful learning and evaluation to strengthen political acumen, analytical skills, and decision-making capabilities.
