Son Ca Island doctors perform appendectomy on serviceman
PANO - A medical team from Son Ca Island Infirmary on April 18 evening successfully conducted a surgery on a patient suffering from acute appendicitis, according to Colonel Vu Duy Khanh, Commissar of Son Ca Island.
At 19:00 on April 18, Bui Ngoc Thinh, aged 20, a soldier of Brigade 146 of Naval Region 4, had a stomachache and was hospitalized to the infirmary. Thinh was diagnosed with acute appendicitis and needed an urgent surgery.
After giving the patient with intravenous anesthetic, the surgery team, led by the infirmary’s head, Major Vu Tien Hoat, performed an appendectomy for 35 minutes.
The patient is now recovering.
