Over the past years, the two sides have effectively coordinated to ensure communication for defense and security missions, as a way to concretize the Prime Minister’s Directive No.422 on enhancing and developing telecommunications infrastructure sustainably, and in line with higher levels’ guideline on combining defense consolidation with economic development.

They have also worked closely to guarantee smooth communication for leaders of the Party, State, Central Military Commission, Ministry of National Defense to direct the whole military in any circumstances, and for units to perform their combat readiness, training, exercises, search and rescue duties, among others.

Their good coordination has helped reduce defense budget spending on ensuring military telecommunications infrastructure and create conditions for Viettel Group to build and develop its production and business network.

Addressing the event, Lt. Gen. Huynh Chien Thang applauded the two units for their close coordination to complete their assignments.

Gen. Thang asked the two units to promote their close relationship in the future.

The signing of such an agreement was important for both sides to ensure military communication and develop themselves, contributing to building a revolutionary, regular, elite, gradually-modernized military according to resolutions of the 13th National Party Congress and the 11th Military Party Congress.

The Signal Corps targets to become a modern unit. Last year, the Ministry of National Defense approved a strategy on developing the military communication system in the 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2045. The strategy is seen as an important legal foundation for the Signal Corps to develop a modern communication system to meet requirements of communication guarantee in the new situation.
