The unit has trained to ensure communications in all conditions, especially in maneuver scenario as well as rainy and stormy conditions.
Despite harsh weather conditions in May, troops of Battalion 3, Signal Brigade 80 actively implemented training tasks. Observing a training session of the signal troops, reporter of the People’s Army Newspaper (PAN) understood more about the high combat readiness spirit of the troops.
The scenario is that local people in Hung Long commune, Hung Nguyen district, Nghe An province are severely affected due to heavy rain and flood caused by Storm No.2. The MR4 Command sends troops to the scene to conduct search and rescue missions. Captain Vu Hai Trieu, Head of Company 7 directs his soldiers to undertake the assigned task. A bank of the Lam River was chosen as the unit’s training field.
As the vehicle just stopped, antenna system was erected. Through the information system on a PTR vehicle, Captain Vu Hai Trieu worked with the battalion commanding officer.
According to Senior Captain Nguyen Le Hung, Commanding Officer of Battalion 3, the training session basically met set targets. “Because it has not rained this whole week, the troops had to wear night suits,” he added.

Visiting Battalion 2, at nearly 11a.m., the troops were seen wholeheartedly training to ensure communications in all cases. According to Commanding Officer of Battalion 2 Major Nguyen Minh Duc, in order to ensure smooth communications and implement natural disaster prevention, this year, the unit has made good preparations in equipment and sent troops to the scene as soon as possible. It has also built plans to be ready in any circumstances.
Commanding officer of Signal Brigade 80 Senior Colonel Pham Van Long noted that in order to ensure smooth communications, the unit regularly directs its troops to well conduct training tasks and prepare weapons and equipment to be ready in any circumstances. The troops have been also requested to boost training in line with reality, such as night training, training in different rainy situations and on harsh terrains.
Reportedly, in addition to training mission, the unit has also worked with local authorities to organize exercises on natural disaster prevention. With the thorough preparation in all fields, troops of Signal Brigade 80 are always ready to perform all assigned tasks.
