The opening ceremony was attended by Major General Du Truong Giang, Second-in-Command of Military Region 7.
The course is designated for 143 senior officials in provinces and cities in the military region. Within 15 days, the trainees will study various topics, such as the Party’s guideline and State’s policies on defense - security, the development of socio-economy in combination with strengthening defense-security, and external affairs in the current context, to name but a few.
In his speech, General Giang laid stress on the importance of defense - security education in building up the whole people’s defense and security posture as well as local defensive areas, contributing to further ensuring political stability for the socio-economic development in localities in the military region.
He asked the trainees to raise sense of responsibility, and be active and proactive in their learning to later apply the acquired knowledge to their duty performance.

* The same day, a similar course was also launched in Long An province.
During the 15-day event, participants will study basic knowledge related to the Party’s guideline and State’s policies on defense - security, hostile forces’ schemes and tricks of sabotage towards the revolution of Vietnam, and mission to safeguard the Fatherland in the new situation, among others.
Addressing the event, Senior Colonel Tran Van Trai, Commanding Officer of the Long An provincial Military Command, requested all trainees to strictly observe the course’s regulations, promote responsibility, and raise awareness about defense - security work to further contribute to their units’ task implementation quality.
