Party leader meets outstanding military youth
PANO – The General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong hosted a reception in Hanoi on November 8 for 60 outstanding military youth representing 450 delegates who participated in the ninth Military Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Congress.
Present at the meeting was Major General Le Hien Van, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army.
A representative of the Military Youth Board under the General Department of Politics briefed General Secretary Trong of their achievements on implementing youth work in the 2012-2017 period and preparations for the congress.

Additionally, military young officers shared experiences during their task performance and suggested measures to raise the quality and efficiency of youth activities.
The General Secretary acknowledged the endeavors of the delegates in particular, and the military youth in general. He added that they have actively joined a number of emulation campaigns to boost training and combat readiness quality, contributing to strengthening the army, maintaining political stability and social order, and firmly protecting the national sovereignty.
In the coming time, the Party chief requested them to continuously bring into play the recorded results, particularly in promoting their political stance and competence, in order to build both healthy Party organizations and comprehensively strong units. He believed that with their strength and determination, they would certainly obtain more achievements.
Youth, including those in the army, are a right-hand force of the Party and a key force of the nation. The Party always creates all favorable conditions for the younger generations, and will continue to look after and cultivate them, so that they will make contributions to the army, the people, and the nation as a whole, he concluded.
