PANO – The People’s Army Newspaper and Loc Troi Group on November 2 visited and presented gifts to locals in the flood-isolated communes of Phuong My, Hoa Hai and Phong Dien, Huong Khe district, Ha Tinh province.

The delegation handed over 2,500 gifts, worth VND 100,000 in cash plus 20 kilograms of rice each, to flood-hit people in these communes.

Leaders of Hoa Hai and Phuong Dien communes expressed their deep gratitude to the delegation and promised to allocate the gifts to all flood-affected people.

* Also on November 2, the Military Region 4 (MR4) Command, led by Major General Nguyen Huu Truyen, offered 4 tons of food to people in flood-hit localities of Quang Tri province.

Accordingly, MR 4 presented 2 tons of instant noodle and 2 tons of dried food to Cam Lo district, Quang Tri province; and 50 kilograms of Chloramine B to flood-hit areas to process unclean water.

Due to the rising water level on the Hieu River, many houses in Cam Lo district, Quang Tri province were submerged in deep water and thousands of hectares of crops were damaged. The region mobilized Division 968’s and local troops and militiamen to evacuate people and their property to safe places.

The same day, over 600 troops of Regiment 19 of Division 968 under the region helped people in Cam Hieu, Cam Tuyen, Cam Thuy communes, and Cam Lo town, repair and clean their houses, contributing to stabilizing their life.
