Troops of Regiment 152 participate in the online competition “Improving awareness of preventing accidents caused by post-war unexploded ordnance (UXO) in Vietnam.”

With the aim to raise troops’ awareness of war-left UXO and toxic chemicals, Battalion 1 of Regiment 152 built a concrete plan and mobilized its troops to take part in the competition.

According to Senior Captain Le Trong Nguyen, Deputy Political Commissar of Battalion 1, his unit actively instructed troops to participate in the competition. Each competitor had to answer five multiple-choice questions after watching a video about UXO consequences and predict the number of respondents. Participants could easily sign up to join the competition via laptops or smartphones with Internet access. After three weeks of launching, the competition drew the participation of over 200 troops, he added.

The event was expected to provide useful knowledge for participants, said Captain Nguyen Van Duong, Political Commissar of Company 2 of Battalion 1.

Due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, Regiment 152 conducted various online activities to raise troops’ awareness of various issues, such as national border sovereignty, late General Vo Nguyen Giap, or the Vietnam Coast Guard Law.

Colonel Tran Minh Han, Political Commissar of Regiment 152, stressed that the Party Committee and Chain-of-Command of the regiment always paid special attention to promoting the role of youth union organizations and youth union staff in joining competitions, contributing to enhancing self-studying movement among their personnel. The competitions also helped improve the staff’s capability in applying information technologies to implementing their missions.
