Oil spill response drill takes place in Khanh Hoa
PANO – The Khanh Hoa provincial Border Guard Command and the Vietnam Oil Spill Response Center’s Khanh Hoa branch held an oil spill response exercise in Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province on May 20.
The assumed scenario was that oil tanker NT0501, numbered PP33, heading to Vinpeal Nha Trang port unfortunately crashed into a dock of the port, causing oil spill and made two sailors fall into the water.
The provincial Border Guard Command was ordered to deploy troops and vehicles to team up with on-site forces in the rescue missions.
The exercise concluded successfully with absolute safety of humans and vehicles.
The event aimed to promote those forces’ competency in responding to oil and chemical spill incidents so as to minimize loses in human and property.
