PANO - A mission from the General Department of Politics under the Vietnam People's Army, led by its director, Sr. Lt. Gen. Ngo Xuan Lich, on February 7th visited and extended Lunar New Year greetings to the authorities of Ha Nam and Hung Yen provinces.

At the meeting, representatives of the two provinces briefed the general on their performances of the 2014 socio-economic development and national defence mission, as well as preparations for the upcoming Lunar New Year.

On behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defence, General Lich hailed the localities' achievements and urged them to continue overcoming difficulties to complete all their set plans and well prepare for the coming Party congresses at all levels.

For Tet holidays, he asked local organs and troops to be aware of their missions, focusing on preventing crime, maintaining high combat readiness and taking care for policy beneficiaries, guaranteeing safety and practicing thrift.

On this occasion, the General also visited and offered Tet gifts to war invalids and sick soldiers under treatment at the Convalescent Centre for War Invalids in Duy Tien district, Ha Nam province.
