New Deputy Chief of General Staff appointed
PANO – The Ministry of National Defense held a ceremony on November 25 to hand over the decision of the Prime Minister to appoint Commander of Military Region 4 Lieutenant General Nguyen Doan Anh as Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army.
On behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang handed over the appointment decision to Lieutenant General Nguyen Doan Anh.

Speaking at the ceremony, General Phan Van Giang congratulated Lieutenant General Nguyen Doan Anh on his new post, stressing that it showed the trust and recognition of the Party, State and military for the senior officer.
The defense minister noted that Lieutenant General Nguyen Doan Anh, on his previous post as Commander of Military Region 4, has made great contribution to building a strong regional armed force and close relationship with the local authorities.

General Phan Van Giang also required Lieutenant General Nguyen Doan Anh to continue promoting his responsibility and capability and acquiring more knowledge to meet his new task requirements, contributing to the development of the Vietnam People’s Army in general and the General Staff in particular.
For his part, Lieutenant General Nguyen Doan Anh expressed his gratitude to the Party, State, and military and the defense leadership. He promised to continue self-studying to heighten capability, promote responsibility, quickly adapt to his new post, and fulfill all assigned missions.
