PANO – The Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission and leaders of the Defence Ministry handed over certificates of decisions on position appointments and promotions to the ranks of Generals to senior officers on December 27th in the Defence Hall.

Member of the Politburo, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission and Defence Minister, General Phung Quang Thanh chaired the meeting.

Present at the meeting were also Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission and Director of the General Department of Politics, Senior Lieutenant General Ngo Xuan Lich, and other leaders of Defence agencies, Services and General Departments. 

On behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Defence Ministry, General Phung Quang Thanh congratulated the newly appointed and promoted officers, and stressed that this showed that the Party, State, Central Military Commission and Defence Ministry recognized their contributions and achievements over the past years.

“Receiving the honour today, you, newly appointed and promoted, should try your best to continuously improve your virtue, ability and expertise, and successfully fulfil your assigned tasks to deserve the trust from the Party, State, Central Military Commission and Defence Ministry,” the Defence Minister stated.

On behalf of the newly appointed and promoted officers, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Political Commissar of the Air Defence and Air Force made remarks, expressing appreciation for the care from the Party, State, Central Military Commission and Defence Ministry. He also promised to study and thoroughly grasp all guidelines and policies of the Party on defence and military affairs, actively improve political and military knowledge and make more efforts to build their units towards the comprehensively strong military unit model, contributing to the building of a revolutionary, standardized and elite modern Army.
