Speaking at the ceremony, Sr. Lt. Gen. Tran Viet Khoa underlined that the course aims to enhance trainees’ capabilities of strategic prediction, so that they could give timely advice and implement military, defense and security tasks in an effective manner. Also, the course helps the participants thoroughly evaluate situations and then deal with theoretical and practical issues in all fields.

Highlighting the significance of the course, Gen. Khoa required the trainees to raise their sense of responsibility, overcome difficulties, be pro-active and promote creativity in their learning to broaden their knowledge and increase their competence.
The course sees the participation of nearly 80 cadres, who are leaders of ministers, departments, localities and units. During the course, the trainees will study contents related to the Fatherland protection strategies in the new situation; the Party’s guidelines and policies and State’s laws on defense - security; solutions concerning socio-economic development in line with defense - security reinforcement; the building of the whole-people's defense posture in attachment with the people’s security posture; and the protection of national and political security, among others.
In addition, the participants will be equipped with knowledge related to defense - security strategies of several countries related to Vietnam, external affairs associated with defense - security in the new situation, prevention and fight against signs of “peaceful evolution” and hostile forces’ riots and subversion.
Moreover, they will learn about defense tactics in local defensive areas, the protection and management of national sovereignty over sea, islands, and borders, while paying fact-finding visits to several localities and military units and exchanging experience in defense - security work in combination with socio-economic development.
