PANO - A delegation from Naval Commando Corps 126 has visited a former battlefield in Quang Tri province, where the corps’ troops fought during the resistance war against American imperialists.
This significant activity demonstrates the deep gratitude of the corps to Quang Tri authorities and people for their support at that time, and is to celebrate the 47th anniversary of the corps on April 13th.
The delegation included the corps’ present cadres and troops, Hero of the People’s Armed Forces Vice Admiral Nguyen Van Tinh, and other veterans.
During the four-day visit, from April 11th, the delegation has visited and presented gifts to Quang Tri Province’s Party Committee and People’s Committee, Dong Giang ward and communes of Gio Mai, Gio Hai, and Vinh Quang in Gio Linh district.
Together with presenting gifts to families who supported the corps during fierce combat against foreign invaders, the delegation has paid homage to commandos and martyrs at the Commando Victory Memorial in Cua Viet, the Truong Son and Road 9 Martyrs Cemeteries and Quang Tri ancient citadel, as well as held an exchange, entitled “Beloved Quang Tri on the day to come back”, with those localities.
