Troops of the Naval Academy offering incense to martyrs

Phu Quoc Prison was recognized as a national historical relic site in 1993. This was the biggest prison in the South of Vietnam and more than 32,000 Vietnamese revolutionaries were detained there during wartime. The figure at times exceeded 40,000 prisoners, including political prisoners from different periods. The prison was an incontrovertible evidence of the brutal crimes committed by the colonialist and imperialist invaders and reflected the undaunted willpower of Vietnamese veteran revolutionaries.

According to Colonel Nam, their program was part of a field training exercise at sea and an exchange program with the navies of Cambodia and Thailand. The visit helped the troops on board the ship further understand the indomitable struggle will of revolutionaries, contributing to promoting their national pride and encouraging them to strive for better academic records and higher achievements in scientific research.
