MR5 steps up COVID-19 prevention and control
PANO – Military Region 5 (MR5) will step up COVID-19 prevention and control in the Central Highlands Region, said MR5 Commander Lieutenant General Thai Dai Ngoc at a conference on May 10.
Particularly, units under MR5 will cooperate with other forces to set up checkpoints and form patrol teams to prevent illegal border entries from Cambodia and Laos. They will also prepare facilities for quarantining citizens from pandemic-hit localities and develop a plan on building a field hospital to treat COVID-19 cases if the pandemic in the region becomes more complicated.
At the event, General Ngoc asked units under the military region to continue studying higher levels’ directives on COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control. They were also requested to strictly observe the Health Ministry’s “5K” regulations, Khau trang (face mask), Khu khuan (disinfection), Khoang cach (distancing ), Khong tu tap (no large gathering), and Khai bao y te (health declaration).
Ngoc also urged units to closely follow situational developments so as to make recommendations for higher levels to issue measures to prevent COVID-19 in a timely manner.
Participating units should foster coordination in preventing illegal border crossing and ensuring security and public order before, during, and after the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term, Ngoc added.
