At the ceremony, NDA President, Lieutenant General Tran Viet Khoa, highlighted the achievements of the NDA in the past academic year. Particularly, the academy actively renovated training contents and methods with a focus on honing learners’ critical thinking. Altogether, 23 courses were held for more than 800 learners of nine categories. The NDA also cooperated with the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics to hold an advanced political course with good results. In terms of scientific research, 24 projects at all levels, 73 ministry-level and 18 academy-level training curricula were conducted.

Delivering her key note at the event, NA Chairwoman stressed that the key and regular tasks of the whole political system are to firmly maintain the defense-security posture and protect national sovereignty and territorial integrity. The training outcomes of the NDA have contributed to enhancing key cadres’ understanding, capacity of the leadership, direction and management of defense-security missions at ministries, sectors and localities, helping build a stronger Vietnam People’s Army. The NA Chairwoman held that the NDA better implement its task of training senior officials for the Party, State and the military. To best fulfill its tasks in the new academic year, the NDA is to strictly carry out Party resolutions, State policies and instructions of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense.

* On the morning the same day, the Border Guard Academy kicked off the new school year of 2018-2019 with the attendance of Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Phuong Nam, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army. In the past academic year, the academy actively fulfilled its central tasks. The academy completed 80 scientific research projects at all levels; accepted 32 cadet-level research projects; provided training for 1,375 cadets and learners; admitted 520 members to the Party; held graduation exams for 24 classes with the total number of cadets and learners of 1,459. All the cadets and learners were happy to undertake new missions after graduation.

The Air Defense - Air Force Academy receives the third-class Labor Order of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.

* The Military Culture and Art University held the opening ceremony for the new school year of 2018-2019 on September 21 in Hanoi. Lieutenant General Le Hien Van, Deputy Chief of the General Department of Politics, attended and addressed the ceremony.

The general hailed the achievements of the university in the past school year and clearly pinpointed central missions that the university should focus on in the new school year. On this occasion, the university handed over scholarships and gifts to needy cadets and students.

* The same day, the Air Defense - Air Force Academy held a ceremony to kick off the new school year and receive the third-class Labor Order of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic. At the ceremony, the academy set the target in the new school year to have 8-10% of its teaching staff become excellent instructors at the grassroots level. Each of its faculties will also strive to have new training software, build e-curricula and complete the compilation of graduation standards.

* Earlier, on the afternoon of September 20, the Clinical Medicine and Pharmaceutics Institute under the Military Central Hospital 108 also opened the new school year of 2018-2019.
