Since 2017, the political agencies at all levels in the military have guided and directed military units to coordinate with the VWVA in organizing coordination plans, programs, and activities in an effective, practical and comprehensive way. The military units and the affiliates under the VWVA have actively cooperated with each other to well popularize information and the Party's and State's policies and guidelines to troops, members of the VWVA and people, especially military-defense missions in the new situation.

The units and VWVA affiliates have disseminated the revolutionary traditions of the Party, the people, the military, and the VWVA; disclosed hostile forces' strategy “peaceful evolution”; and explained the two strategic tasks of national construction and defense. They have also mobilized troops and veterans to promote the movement “Learning and following President Ho Chi Minh's thought, morals and lifestyle” in line with the implementation of Resolution No.4 of the 12th Party Central Committee; uphold patriotism, the strength of the great national unity bloc; firmly protect national sovereignty over the country’s seas, islands; and fight wrongful points of view.

Speaking at the conference, Gen. Ngo Xuan Lich thanked the CCVWVA for cooperating with the Central Military Commission (CMC) and the MND to well implement the coordination programs between the two sides. The significant outcomes of the coordination programs would contribute to building a strong military in all aspects, encouraging troops to fulfill their assigned tasks, uphold the virtues of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the new situation, and promote the people's trust in the revolutionary cause of the Party, the State and the nation, he noted.

The Defense Minister also highly appreciated military units’ active coordination with the VWVA to build strong political organizations; and to effectively implement the Resolution of the eighth Meeting of the 11th Party Central Committee on national protection strategy in the new context and Resolution No.28-NQ/TW on building firm defensive areas in cities, especially in key strategic areas.

Gen. Lich asked the units in the whole military and affiliates of the VWVA to continue to grasp and couple the implementation of the coordination programs and the performance of their military-defense tasks. All military units should also promote information about important historical events in 2019-2020, the Defense Minister said.

He also affirmed that the MND always supports the VWVA in terms of manpower and funds to organize activities in the future.

Addressing the conference, Gen. Lich informed the delegates of the results of the most recent meeting of the CMC on the implementation of the CMC’s Resolutions on intensifying leadership over military-defense missions and building Party Organization of the military in 2019.
