Over the past time, the Central Military Commission and leaders at all levels have attached much importance to the family and children-related work in the military, bringing practical outcomes.

In 2023 alone, the MND used the Children’s Protection Fund to support 240 children of martyrs, 43 children undergoing heart surgery and major surgery; 37 children with cancer and serious diseases, six orphans, 260 needy children in remote areas, with a total sum of more than VND 2.6 billion.

In order to meet all set targets, Gen. Gau requested leaders at all levels in the whole military to direct the implementation of children’s care, education and protection work, boost education and dissemination work to raise public awareness of the Law on Domestic Violence Prevention and Control; Law on Marriage and Family; Children’s Law, the rights of the child; take care of children in the areas where troops are stationed in, especially children in remote areas and ethnic minority groups.

Martyrs’ children receiving gifts

On the occasion, the Committee for Population, Family and Children of the MND presented gifts to martyrs’ children with good academic outcomes; while the Vietnam Children’s Fund offered 20 bicycles to adopted children of border guard posts.
