Defense leader presents gifts to national contributors in Phu Tho province

Speaking at the center, Lieutenant General Truong Manh Dung expressed deep gratitude for immense sacrifices and contributions of veterans to the national liberation and reunification cause. The general praised the wounded and sick soldiers for maintaining their optimism and resilient willpower of Uncle Ho’s soldiers, despite their injuries and daily hardships.

Lieutenant General Truong Manh Dung affirmed that the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense have consistently proposed major policies to the Party and State to care for the military and its rear. Functional agencies frequently organize visits and support for convalescent centers for national contributors, provide lifelong care for heroic Vietnamese mothers, and assist the relatives of martyrs and severely-wounded and sick soldiers.

Looking toward the 80th anniversary of the Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs’ Day, the Ministry of National Defense is decisively implementing the “500-day campaign to accelerate the search, collection, and identification of martyrs’ remains” nationwide. This serves as both a sacred duty and a tribute from the entire military to the preceding generations.

The Deputy Chief of the General Staff thanked the Party organizations, authorities, and armed forces of Phu Tho province for their attention to the center. He also urged the center’s leaders and staff to continue upholding their responsibility, providing dedicated care for wounded and sick soldiers, and building a stronger unit.

On this occasion, Lieutenant General Truong Manh Dung presented gifts from the Central Military Commission and the Defense Ministry to wounded and sick soldiers at the center.

Currently, the center treats and cares for 28 severely-wounded and sick soldiers with an injury rate of 81 percent or higher. Annually, the facility also provides rotational convalescence for over 1,000 national contributors across Phu Tho province.
