At the checking session, the delegation heard a report emphasizing that the MoST has directed its affiliates to effectively actualize higher levels’ documents and instructions on defense work and actively made suggestions to draft documents for the Ministry of National Defense.

The ministry has pro-actively disseminated information about defense and security during practical activities, such as defensive area exercises, outdoor training, and mass mobilization activities. It has provided defense and security knowledge for its personnel.
Attentively, its strategies and mid- and long-term development plans on innovative and creative science and technology have been developed with close attachment to further consolidation of defense and security. Many of its joint programs, research, and projects have helped build up defense potential and contributed to the building of firm defensive areas.

Moreover, the military committee of the ministry has operated effectively; training sessions have been opened for its self-defense force. This year, 60 members have had their shooting skills tested, and all of them met the requirements.

Apart from joining hands with the local military agency to strictly manage the reserve force, the ministry has made registration for its members at the age of serving military service and ensured funds for defense work and other activities of the self-defense and reserve forces.
Highly praising the MoST’s attainments in implementing defense duties, Gen. Anh urged it to continue to effectively realize the Party’s guidelines, the State’s laws on military and defense work, defense and security education, and develop and carry out its programs and plans coupled with defense task performance.
He also asked the ministry to soon fix its remaining shortcomings and pay more attention to science and technology products that both serve socio-economic development and the performance of defense and security tasks, as well as the development of science and technology potential for defensive areas and the defense-security work.
