On October 31st 1945, Bases 2 and 3 (the predecessors of Military Zone 3) were established. Since then, people and armed forces of Military Zone 3 have made remarkable contributions to the national resistance wars against foreign invaders and also the national construction and defence cause.
They were conferred with an array of medals and certificates, including the Golden Star Order, the Ho Chi Minh Order, the Independence Order and the “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” title, to name but a few.
Delivering a speech, President Truong Tan Sang highly valued their task performance and requested them to continue drawing from their traditions, seriously implementing the Party and State’s guidelines and policies on national defence strategy in the new context, enhancing their political stance and combat readiness to fulfill all assigned missions.
Besides, the zone’s armed forces should also work with local authorities to ensure social order, develop the socio-economy in combination with reinforcing national defence and security, and well carry out social welfare activities and search and rescue missions.
