The Military Region 1 Party Committee and Command launched the festival at Commando Battalion 20 under the Staff of Military Region 1.

After the launch ceremony, troops of group of four agencies under Military Region 1 planted 400 timber trees. Agencies and units of the military region’s armed forces planted 136,701 timber and fruit trees. 

This year, units under Military Region 2 have planted 118,000 trees, including 112,000 timber and more than 6,000 fruit trees. The military region has its requested agencies and units to step up information dissemination and education to raise troops’ awareness of the benefits of tree planting and afforestation, take good care of planted trees, and promptly honor effective models in implementing the tree planting movement.

Meanwhile, Military Region 3 has mobilized all agencies and units to plant and take care of more than 100,000 trees of different kinds. Over the past time, the military region’s armed forces have well carried out tree planting and forest protection. All troops have actively responded to the tree planting and eco-environment protection movements, contributing to creating a green, clean, and beautiful landscape. 

At Military Region 4’s launch ceremony, its Commander Lieutenant General Ha Tho Binh asked troops of the military region’s armed forces to actively join the movement and have effective measures to protect forest and prevent illegal forest exploitation. On the occasion, the military region planted tens of thousands of trees and plants.

On January 27, agencies and units under the Air Defense – Air Force Service simultaneously launched the festival. Earlier, agencies and units had actively conducted surveys of terrain, chosen trees suitable to climate and soil conditions, and equipped their personnel with tree planting and caring techniques.

In response to the movement, Brigades 649 and 971 under the Department of Transport of the General Department of Logistics cooperated with localities where they are stationed to plant trees.

In Nghe An province, units under the provincial Border Guard Command stationed in border and coastal areas actively responded to the festival by planting different kinds of trees, including timber, shade, and fruit trees.  

In the Northern province of Ninh Binh, the provincial Military Command mobilized its troops to join the event and encouraged them to consider tree planting a regular and continuous activity.

The same day, Senior Colonel Le Xuan Hung, Rector of the Signal Officer Training School, called on the unit’s personnel and cadets to actively join the movement. This year, the school plans to plant and take care of 1,600 dalbergia odorifera, nine terminalia mantaly, and 200 thaya senegalensis on its campus and 3 hectares of acacia auriculiformis on its training ground in Duc My hamlet, Ninh Sim commune, Ninh Hoa town, Khanh Hoa province.

In Kien Giang city of Phu Quoc province, together with planting hundreds of trees, Naval Region 5 requested its agencies and units to promote information dissemination and education to raise troops’ awareness and responsibility for planting and taking care of trees.

In Quang Ninh province, more than 350 troops from agencies and units under the provincial Military Command have planted 1,500 trees.

As planned, agencies and units of the province’s armed forces will plant over 12,700 trees of different kinds.
