The surgery is successful.

The patient was diagnosed with craniopharyngioma after one year suffering headache, vision loss and menstrual disorder. Her operation was successfully conducted on May 25 by the medical staff of Military Hospital 175. The patient’s health is currently in stable condition.

According to the hospital’s doctors, the surgical navigation system help pinpoint the location of  tumor under the skull and resulting in shorter surgical operation time and smaller craniotomies. Smaller and better-centered craniotomies are associated with reduced bleeding and minimized brain injury.

In addition, the system can be applied in minimally invasive spine surgery (MISS) thanks to its advantages such as smaller incision or shorter surgical operation time.
