Military hospital successfully operates surgery for esophageal cancer patient
PANO – The Central Military Hospital 108 has just successfully conducted a new-method surgery on an esophageal cancer patient with the support of Prof. Kazuhiko Yamada from the Department of Gastroenterological Surgery of the Japanese National Center for Medical and Health Care.
The male patient aged 59 was in the second stage of his esophageal cancer.

After undergoing a ten-hour surgery with the endoscopic therapy, he was provided an inpatient recovery program at the hospital's intensive care unit (ICU) for a day. The patient is conscious now and could eat and speak normally.
Prof. Yamada is a well-known surgeon in the field of esophageal cancer treatment.
After the surgery, he expressed his impression on the expertise and professionalism of Vietnamese military doctors. He believed that the close cooperation between the two sides would bring about practical and long-term good outcomes.
