The fierce war against the US imperialists required that a specialized department of burns to cure people and soldiers be established. On December 1st 1964, the first faculty of burns of the nation, the predecessor of Le Huu Trac National Institute of Burns, was formed at the Military Hospital 103. Since its establishement, the institute has gained tremendous achievements in burn treatment, professional training, and scientific research to cure patients with burns in both wartime and peacetime.

For its excellent achievements, Le Huu Trac National Institute of Burns has been awarded with numerous honourable titles and orders of the Party and State including the title “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” (twice), first-class Independence Order (once), Military Exploit Order (twice), Feat Orders (five times), Labor Order (twice).

Addressing the event, Major General Do Quyet, Director of the Military Medical University, believed that the institute would bring into full play their excellent achievements to well fulfill all assigned tasks.
