Troops of the Dak Nong provincial Military Command searching for the victims

After receiving the information, the Military Command of Dak R'Lap district mobilized 15 troops and militiamen from the communes of Dak Sin, Dak Ru and Quang Tin to the scene to urgently search for the victims.

Because the road was damaged and isolated by the floodwater, the forces had to walk nearly 3 kilometers to reach the scene. Heavy rains are forecast to continue in the province in the next days, so the areas are still at risk of landslides and flashfloods. Consequently, the provincial Military Command deployed more than 40 troops to search for the victims.

According to Senior Colonel Truong Xuan Lai, Political Commissar of the provincial Military Command, the rescue forces found the bodies of three victims and cooperated with local authorities to prepare funeral services and burial ceremonies for them.

The provincial Military Command presented VND 30 million to support the victims' family.

In implementing border external affairs, Senior Colonel Dao Viet Hung, Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of the Border Guard Command of Dak Lak province, on August 8 visited and presented gifts to troops of Me Rak Police Station who were isolated due to the recent flood. The troops were rescued by Serepok Border Guard Station on August 7.

Senior Colonel Dao Viet Hung directed Serepok Border Guard Station to continue to provide food, necessities and medicines to flood-hit victims as well as to assist the victims in returning to their normal lives.

Local people have their health checked

Floods and heavy rains that accompanied storm Wipha left one person dead, submerged nearly 800 houses and destroyed thousands of hectares of rice crops in Dak Lak province. The border communes in Ea Sup and Buon Don districts are among the hardest hit localities.

Accordingly, the border guard stations in Dak Lak province successfully rescued 70 people who were stranded by the floodwater. The units also provided free accommodations and first aid and evacuated flood-hit victims' property from the affected areas to safer places. The border guard stations also took measures to quickly respond to any developments of storm Wipha.
