According to the province’s Center for Disease Control and Prevention, as of July 5, the province has recorded 24 COVID-19 infection cases.

To prevent SARS-CoV-2 from spreading, the provincial Military Command and the Signal Officers Training School mobilized dozens of troops to spray disinfectants in barracks and prepare facilities to quarantine F1 and F2 cases who have had contact with COVID-19 cases.

Preparing food for quarantined people

Reportedly, the concentrated quarantine area at the Nha Trang-based National College of Pedagogy has received 300 citizens and is prepared to receive more COVID-19 close contact cases upon request. More than 60 troops and militiamen were mobilized to work in quarantine facilities. During their 21-day quarantine period, the quarantined will have their samples taken and tested for COVID-19 three times by military medical forces.

At present, the provincial Military Command is working with Ton Duc Thang University, Nha Trang University and Khanh Hoa University to build up plans to set up concentrated quarantine zones if the pandemic develops more complicatedly. 

Meanwhile, the provincial Border Guard Command instructed its troops to strictly manage water vehicles coming into Khanh Hoa province and set up mobile checkpoints to detect and prevent illegal crossings at sea in an effective and timely manner.

Talking with reporters of the People’s Army Newspaper, Deputy Political Commissar of the Khanh Hoa provincial Military Command Colonel Dinh Van Hung affirmed the resolve of the province’s armed forces in controlling the pandemic in the province, so as to contribute to the COVID-19 containment effort.
