It was the eighth cardiovascular conference so far hosted in turn by various hospitals in the whole army.

At the conference 

Senior Colonel Le Van Truong, Director of the hospital’s Institute of Cardiology held that the socio-economic development, living standards and lifestyles of people over the past 20 years have resulted in changes in the presentation cardiovascular diseases in the community and clinical practices. Cardiovascular diseases are the number one cause of death for patients.

Since 1996, Military Hospital 108 has been a leading center to diagnose and treat cardiovascular and cardiac diseases, such as congenital heart defects, heart failure, heart valve disease and coronary heart disease, in addition to organ transplants and multi-vascular disease. The hospital is planning to install more facilities and improve doctors’ expertise in order to raise its treatment quality for patients with those diseases.

Lieutenant General Mai Hong Bang, Director of Military Hospital 108 underlined that the conference was a good opportunity for military doctors to discuss and get updated information on the ever-advancing technology in the fields of cardiology and cardiovascular diseases, so that they will further improve their treatment services to local patients.
