PANO – Tran Dai Nghia University under the General Department of Techniques held a scientific seminar on May 25th entitled “Improving the quality of training technicians at the Military Technical Officer Training College”.

20 scientific reports were presented at the seminar by defence teachers, experts, managers and scientists from military zones, army corps and technical units in the South.

The reports focused on assessing the training of technical officers at the school. According to the reports, the school has improved the quality of training over the past years; as a result, graduate officers in general had good virtue, firm political stance and good expertise, meeting the requirements for tasks in military units after graduating school.

However, some reports pointed out the weaknesses of the school’s outputs. Some graduate-officers were not active in giving consultancy to units’ commands on technical issues and did not have good practical skills.

Delegates at the seminar discussed and gave a number of proposals and measures to further improve the quality of the training of technical officers at the school. These included the proposals to renew training programmes and teaching methods as well as to increase practice time during the training courses and boost scientific research.
