Themed “National Resistance-Will of Defending Independence and Freedom and Historical Lessons”, the seminar aims to continuously confirming and elucidating such contents as the sound leadership of the Party Central Committee and President Ho Chi Minh in the preparation for and start of national resistance against French invaders; feats of arms of our troops and people on the first days of the national resistance, demonstrating the strong will of upholding national independence and freedom; the strength of the people’s warfare and people’s unity; the Party’s stance, intelligence, and strategic thoughts as well as the development of Vietnam’s art of war.
The seminar will also hear analyses and reviews of realistic lessons drawn from the national resistance, based from which the Party and the State have made policies and guidelines on military and defense. It will analyze the strategies on building forces and people’s warfare so as to consolidate national defense and protection in the current context.
More than 100 papers from the Party's, State's and Army’s leaders, generals, scientists, historical witnesses with different approaches are expected to be delivered during the event, jointly held by the Ministry of National Defense, the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education and the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences.
Addressing the press briefing, Major General Nguyen Phuong Dien, Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Training under the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army hopes that through the seminar and press agencies’ publications, military officers, soldiers and people, especially young generations, will learn more about the revolutionary traditions of the nation and have a high sense of patriotism, national pride and love for socialism, contributing to successfully building and firmly protecting the Fatherland.
