PANO – Generations of officers and cadets of the Political Officers Training School on January 9th gathered in an exchange to mark its 40th founding anniversary.

Delegates sharing their stories.

Since its establishment on January 14th, 1976, the school trained 23,000 officers, reporters, teachers, and lawyers for military units. Generations of college graduates have proved to be military officers with sufficient knowledge, good military skills and firm political stance. In their new positions, the graduates have successfully fulfilled their assigned missions and many of them hold important positions in the Party, State, and army, and others work as famous scientists, teachers, and reporters inside and outside the army. They are always ready to take and fulfil their assigned missions.

During the exchange, the participants shared moving stories while studying and training at the college. The former cadets shared with current cadets that, although they used to face hardship and difficulties in study and life, all of them tried their best to study and train; and that was the key to success in their careers.

Major General Pham Van Huan, Editor-in-Chief of the People’s Army Newspaper, former cadet of Battalion 3 of the 1981-1984 academic year said that at their new positions after graduating, the former cadets have still received support from their teachers who usually give them encouragements and experiences.

Talking about the school, Lieutenant General Pham Quoc Trung, the College Commandant said that for its educational achievements, the Central Military Commission and Ministry of Defence have rated the school as one of the military key educational and training establishments. Together with providing training for Vietnamese cadets, the unit is also active in training Lao and Cambodian officers.
