General Phan Van Giang chairs CMC meeting
PANO - The Standing Board of the Central Military Commission (CMC) held a meeting on December 9 to give opinions on some important issues under the chair of General Phan Van Giang, Deputy Secretary of the CMC and Minister of National Defense.
At the event, delegates heard and gave comments on the draft report on military and defense task performance in 2024 and missions for 2025; the draft leadership resolution on military-defense tasks and Military Party Organization-building in 2025; and the plan on organizing CMC conference and whole-military politico-military conference in 2024.

They also reviewed and approved the report on the implementation of the “Determined-to-Win” emulation movement in 2024, missions for 2025, suggestions on emulation flag presentation 2024; the report on performance of financial, investment and construction work, defense land use and management, among others.
Concluding the meeting, Gen. Giang highly appreciated the quality of the report contents and opinions at the meeting.
He asked relevant agencies to complete the draft reports based on opinions collected at the meeting. He asked them to make a comprehensive report that would highlight the military’s military-defense task performance this year, including the restructuring and merger of some units, lessons drawn, and leadership measures.
Also at the meeting, delegates reviewed the leadership and direction outcomes in 2024 of the CMC’s Standing Board, criticism and self-criticism of members of the standing board, and CMC members who are deputy defense ministers.
