Over the past 65 years, the school has trained more than 75,000 officers, who have gone on to serve across the country and undertake international missions. Many of its graduates have risen to become generals and senior officials of the Party, State and military.

In his remarks, Sr. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Van Gau congratulated generations of officers, instructors, cadets, employees and soldiers of the school on their outstanding achievements and major contribution over the past 65 years. Throughout its development, the school has evolved into a prestigious military institution specializing in the training of army command and staff officers at unit level, offering undergraduate and postgraduate programs as well as conducting scientific research.
To meet the task requirements in the coming period, Sr. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Van Gau asked the school to regularly and thoroughly study and firmly grasp the viewpoints, guidelines, directives and resolutions of the Party, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense on military and defense affairs, as well as education and training.

The school was urged to focus on research, review and improvement of training curricula toward greater standardization and modernization, while renewing teaching formats and methods, and prioritizing building a contingent of instructors and education administrators with good professional qualifications, capabilities, prestige and scientific research capacity.
It should also strengthen the Party organization, build a comprehensively strong and typical and exemplary school, and further consolidate its close-knit ties with local people, among others.
On the occasion, the school was honored with the First-class Fatherland Protection Order.
