General Giang expressed his belief at the politico-military conference in 2021 of the General Department II held in Hanoi on December 25 under the chair of its chief Lieutenant General Pham Ngoc Hung.

According to a report delivered at the meeting by Major General Nguyen Tan Tien, Deputy Chief of the General Department II, in 2021, the general department has comprehensively and resolutely carried out tasks in all working aspects, effectively completed both routine and unscheduled duties, and achieved higher results than those in the previous year.

Its affiliates have actively kept a close watch on and made precise forecasts of situational developments, given timely recommendations to higher levels to handle situations, making important contribution to upholding independence, territorial sovereignty, interests of the nation and ensuring a peaceful environment for national construction and development. The department’s performance has received high acknowledgement and appreciation from leaders of the Party, State, Central Military Commission, Ministry of National Defense, ministries, departments, and localities.

Attentively, on the political and ideological front, the general department’s personnel have kept firm political and ideological stance, been steadfast, shown high sense of responsibility in task performance and in realizing the Politburo’s resolution No.48.

Addressing the conference, General Giang applauded the general department for its positive changes and outstanding achievements in the year.

He asked it to focus on its advisory role and join the entire Party, people, and military to effectively control COVID-19, recover and develop national economy, build and firmly safeguard the Fatherland.

He also requested the general department’s Party Committee and chains-of-command at all levels to embrace and implement higher levels’ resolutions, directives, especially the Politburo’s Resolution No.48 and the Standing Board of the Central Military Commission’s Resolution No.160.

The defense minister urged cadres, employees and soldiers of the general department to exert all-out efforts, overcome difficulties, promote pioneering and exemplary role, and be determined to fulfill the key political task and other assignments.

The general department’s personnel will promote solidarity, unity, be flexible, creative, improve synergy, comprehensive strength to achieve higher results in 2022, thus practically building a stronger general department, General Giang believed.
