Gen. Nguyen Tan Cuong attends meeting of Government Cipher Committee
PANO - The Party Committee of the Government Cipher Committee (GCC) held a conference on January 6 to issue leadership resolution on task implementation in 2025 in the presence of General Nguyen Tan Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, permanent member of the Central Military Commission (CMC), Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defense Minister.
Last year, the GCC’s Party Committee and leadership always pro-actively studied, kept a close watch on situational developments, gave timely suggestions to the Party, State, CMC and Minister of National Defense to lead, direct and exercise state management over cipher affairs. They also concentrated on directing the realization of the Politburo’s resolution on the strategy to develop Vietnam’s cipher sector by 2030 with a vision to 2045 in an effective manner and carrying out set programs, projects and tasks.

Addressing the meeting, Gen. Cuong acknowledged and highly praised the GCC’s achievements in 2024. To achieve the highest possible results in task performance in 2025, Gen. Cuong asked the agency’s Party committee and leaders to continue to exercise their role, ensuring absolute secrecy, safety, preciseness and timeliness of provided information to facilitate the Party’s leadership, the State’s management, and the direction over the armed forces of the CMC and Minister of National Defense.
He also requested them to direct the organization of party congresses at all levels, especially the 11th Congress of the GCC’s Party Organization, laying a firm premise to enter the breakthrough phase of building of a revolutionary, standardized and modernized GCC and Vietnamese cipher sector according to the resolution of the Politburo, contributing to firmly defending the Fatherland, upholding a peaceful and stable environment for the country to enter the era of the nation’s rise.
The GCC was also urged to pay due attention to forming groups of experts who could undertake special tasks on cipher and information security; and making proposals on education and training to ensure that cipher staff could meet requirements in new situation.
